Before I get into the most amazing fact about stopping climate change, I need to clarify the 2% limit on global temperature rise that I have mentioned in recent posts. I have been listening to coverage of the Climate Conference in Poland and the people interviewed refer to the goal as 1.5-2.0 degree limit. So, it seems that the allowable global temperature increase has been modified downward, making the drive to limit greenhouse gas emissions even more urgent.
The Atlantic has an excellent article about the impact of beef production on climate change, What if Everyone Ate Beans Instead of Beef? If we eliminate beef we can easily meet the climate change goal. Amazing, really, that just one thing can have such a big impact. As the story points out, we can still eat chicken, fish, and other animal products. What are we waiting for? We can each make a difference, and this one is fairly simple!
