Seriously! Packing up winter clothes and long underwear is just asking for trouble. I packed mine away last week and today it is snowing. Lots of snow, not just a snow shower. This morning the skies are dark and snow falls nonstop. The world is a winter wonderland–again. What is freakier: tonight the low will be 12 degrees.
In a similar way, cleaning out flower beds so you can see the daffodils invites trouble. I did that yesterday and today the precious yellow daffodils are covered in snow and bent over to the ground.
Part of the problem is a late Easter. Snow falls on either Palm Sunday (today) or Easter, on most years. This is a proven fact–everyone knows it snows around Easter. Last year we had a huge snowstorm in early April, near Easter.
I keep track of late spring snowfall because it hampers my garden efforts. This is certainly the latest spring snow in the 7 springs I have lived here.
It feels like spring/summer will arrive for a short time and that fall/winter will be with us again all too soon.
