Last night while washing dishes, I saw a momma sparrow and two fledglings on my finch feeder. The mom was pulling out seeds and feeding the young ones, who perched on the shepherds crook shown below. When finches or unrelated sparrows came by, the mom knocked them away.
This morning, the two fledglings perched on my back fence.
I quietly came out with my camera and coffee to wait for the mom. The little ones waited patiently on the fence. Shortly, she arrived with food.
She repeatedly flew off and came back with food, mostly focusing on feeding the fat fledgling. The other one flitted around a bit and finally mom fussed at her/him to eat.
