Last night a small group of coyotes wandered along the creek next to my campsite. Their cries are always so beautiful. I fell asleep smiling.
It’s moving day, however, to the other side of the Rocky Mtn Front. I was thinking about a trip 10 years ago to nearby Glacier National Park, when I camped in only a small tent. I certainly didn’t see any grizzlies. So, I decided this time to camp near a lake, despite grizzlies, wolves, and other creatures. I will be in a Forest Service campground with other campers, and am disposing of any stinky food. The rest will have to stay in the van and I won’t cook inside Half Moon. I will miss the little town of Choteau and the beautiful mountains. If you want to see the Montana portrayed in movies and paintings, this is it. I read that David Letterman has a ranch nearby, and was married in the local courthouse.
