A couple of burly guys loaded up all my remaining belongings and unloaded into the garage where I am housed-sitting. We made several van trips. How can I still fill up half of a two-car garage? Apparently I did not divest myself of 75% of my belongings, as I estimated.
If I have time before I settle in at a new church, I will try to get rid of more. About half is furniture/bookcases, 25% craft/sewing stuff and the other 25% dishes and linens. This morning I will go back to the parsonage and hook up the camper. I have a few dishes there as well!
So, step one is over: selling, packing, moving everything into temporary storage in the garage. Tango is mellow again; he seemed nervous about this process of packing. Hmmmm. his dog food is stashed somewhere.
Now: a regular weekend. I have some sub-teaching next week. Winter weather is coming in so Tango and I will stay around and go for a day hike.
The last night at the Yellow House was sad…but I was so tired after teaching special ed and then packing at night that I didn’t have too much time to reminisce or feel sad. Mostly, I am relieved to be out of that huge house. I paid someone to clean it for me so it should be sparkling clean for the next residents.
