The polar vortex left behind a beautiful 3″ blanket of snow. I took many photos early this morning, but now the photo reader is malfunctioning : (
This gives the feel of the beauty outside the warm house:
Folks here say it is a windy place, but so far, storm winds don’t compare with Wheatland. That is a good thing. I also like that we get the storms first and can watch on TV as they hit further south. This is a big one, covering so much of the US.
Go Broncos. That was a great win. And Arizona! I am a closet Arizona fan and am happy to see them doing well.
The adventure is not over. On Thursday I take the Greyhound Bus back to Wheatland, leaving my camper and van here. I could fly but the airport here is 1.5 hours and the Denver airport is 3 hours from Wheatland, which doesn’t help if you don’t have a way to drive home. The bus is practical.
The route is odd. It goes to Bismark, the ND capital, then up to Williston, the oil boom area. From there, the bus heads south again to Billings, MT, then Casper, WY, then Wheatland. The whole trip takes about 24 hours. Buses now have outlets for computers and free wi-fi, so I will be content.
Then, I pick up a U-Haul, coerce some friends to help me load, and drive back to Wishek. Whether I tow a car is uncertain. My PT cruiser is dead, dead, dead.
In the meantime, I plan to finish my new website, which has great shopping links.
Stay warm!
