Yesterday I tried to find a farm out in the backcountry. I never did find the road but I passed through incredible scenery. Lately I have been smitten by the patchwork of colors on the rolling hills. Different crops mature at different rates and produce varying colors and patterns that are mesmerizing.
In these photos I try to show color contrasts. The light at 2 PM wasn’t great, but you get the idea!
This lime green is my favorite! Not sure what crop it is yet.
Bread basket of the world
This photo doesn’t look like much at first; however, it shows a large sunflower field and the very first sunflower in the field to bloom. The smaller sunflowers with dark centers, in the right corner, are weedy versions.
The landscape changes here are fascinating, and the light changes things up hour by hour. That lime green field will be snow-covered in few months. Remember this photo from winter? Still so much contrast in that white landscape
