I have learned to sleep through my alarm clock. Eventually, it turns off and I drift back to sleep. No need to even hit the snooze button. I added an alarm to my cell phone to get double the alarm noise. I learned to sleep through both.
Here, I do not need an alarm clock (except the two days a week I volunteer). Who knows if I sleep until 7 AM instead of 6? Who cares? Only Tango, who wants breakfast and a bacon treat.
The Florida woods has an effective alarm clock, anyway. A pleasant sound that makes arising enjoyable. The Carolina Wren, faithful as a rooster, now sings me awake each morning. Wrens are smallish, but this guy has a huge, loud voice. He (only males sing) starts just before the sky begins to lighten and continues for about a half hour. It seems that he does not stop until I arise, which may be due to Tango milling around the site.
If you go to this link and then click on the tab “Sounds” you can hear my daily alarm.
Last week I met our resident Sandhill Cranes. A pair and their huge baby prance around near the conservation center, where I parked the camper during the hurricane. They too have a lovely sound, a gentle cooing. You can hear that sound here.
Monday is paperwork day, so I will be taking care of stuff and maybe sewing afterward. Maybe a hike. Regardless, I will follow this thought:
If you are looking for a great chick flick, try “Me Before You”. It is a tear-jerker and a very sweet story. I like the acting, too. Thank goodness for the nearby Redbox movie rental kiosk. If I get bored, I know this is the time for a movie and popcorn.
So that’s what I’ve been hearing….a wren!! Thanks for link!!!!!
not a bad alarm clock!
