Sometimes I feel as if I have been here a long time. In six weeks I have worked outdoors in swampy-wet heat, conquered spiders, and survived a hurricane. I added a half-dozen birds to my life list and learned new skills. I made some friends in town and traipsed off to quilt shows. I am nearly set up to do my ESL classroom observation at UF’s Sante Fe College. Six weeks? Seems like longer, but then again, it seems to be going by fast.
What next? Eventually, of course, I will head back to Idaho and my sweet “kids”, but that won’t be until March. Here is the first phase:
Next phase:
Dec 6 – Possibly leave for a quick trip to Cuba! I am investigating that possibility at the moment! Would be nice if it all works out. Right now this is a dream, but I am looking at ways to make it happen.
Dec 11 -The 3,000 mile trek home begins. I will head for the FL panhandle and explore the coastal towns. I will eventually get to Gulf Shores, AL, where I will meet a blogging friend!
Dec 21 – From Gulf Shores, I will take the ferry to Dauphin Island, AL. I have a reservation for one month there, leaving Jan 21.
Jan 29 – I am signed up with the Habitat for Humanity Care-a-Vanners program. I will work on a build in NM for two weeks.
The phase after all of that will be traveling from NM to Northern Idaho. Planning to take my time, maybe up through Utah, but that is for later!
