Many medical practitioners believe that travel puts stress on your immune system. Furthermore, depending on how you travel, you will have increased exposure to cold and flu bugs. I know that I can get run down while traveling on roads, trains and planes.
Vitamin C and ample rest are the keys to staying healthy. I learned this at a retreat where the organizers gave out free packets of Emergen-C. Since, I use this ALWAYS when traveling. Because of my ESL student teachings and the upcoming holidays, where I will be around more people, I started already. Emergen-C! Pink lemonade. I am sure other Vitamin C products work just as well.
I know that many of the vitamins we take are shed through our pee, but Emergen-C seems help prevent travel-related illness. I obtained a flu shot too! I waited until mid-October for my shot because I usually get sick later in the season, towards spring. I hate being sick, and things seem to drag on as I age—a week minimum. I am not looking forward to having the flu or a cold while living in an RV, either.
May your holidays and your winter fun be healthy no matter where you are hitched up!
